Commanding Your Blessing

As we change gears from springtime blossoms to summer time sun, I want us to also shift into a higher level of spiritual authority and power. In this month’s CD, “Commanding Your Blessing” I discuss how many times in life we grow complacent and lower our expectations because we have been disappointed, we see how others around us have settled, we feel we don’t have the right to the “good” things, or we just stopped dreaming to be more “realistic.” Well, I am here to tell you that God never intended for you to settle for less than His best but rather, wrote a book full of promises to guarantee you go from “glory to glory.” Our problem is that we don’t know how to see these promises realized in our own individual lives. I will tell you just how God spoke it into my spirit, “My Word is voice activated. My promises do not become yours until you speak them so!” What a revelation!

The God of this universe SPOKE the world into existence, BREATHED the breath of life into Adam, and sent His Incarnate WORD to redeem this world. If we are created in HIS IMAGE then there MUST be something to us speaking HIS Word into our lives! And not just speaking forth His promises, but COMMANDING our blessing! We are the children of a King and He has given us His authority to command the cursing to go and the blessing to come! Just like an earthly king can “lend” his authority to the one he sends, so God has done with those who obey His Word. He has put his seal upon us and has called us into a “royal priesthood,” made us “joint heirs with Jesus Christ,” and adopted us as “children” of the Most High! As such, we have the ability to see that every good gift from God comes into our lives and operates freely as we speak it forth. Now is the time for you to step into God’s abundant life and into your BEST days by “Commanding Your Blessing!”

If you want to go even deeper into this powerful revelation God has given me concerning “Commanding Your Blessing,” the 6 part series is available for purchase. Simply call 513-423-7040 to order your copy today! I pray that this is not only a word in season but a life changing tool to equip you to not only bring forth your promises but to take back everything the enemy has stolen! Let us go forth together and do mighty conquests for the Kingdom of God!

Ready or Not!

Well, it looks like spring is here and I am so ready for it! The sun has been shining and the flowers are blooming. The Bible talks about the budding of trees as a sign of a new season and I am ready for that NEW season!

The Bible also calls us to examine the things that are going on around us and to be mindful of the prophecies that are being fulfilled in their appropriate time and season. It is very apparent to me that we are living in the generation that will witness the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. As such, we must be watchful in these times to not allow church or serving our God to become obligatory, or nothing more than a duty we must perform. Our relationship with God must be a passionate pursuit, a determined desire, and a longing love affair that grows deeper with every move. In these times of uncertainty and in an era of fear, I want to share a message entitled, “Ready or Not” that is relevant and will call us all back to the right frame of mind.

As children of God, no matter what may come we have nothing to fear. Our hope, in these seemingly hopeless times, lies in the truth of His Word, which promises us that we can look up and know that our redemption is drawing nigh. I admonish you not to fail to assemble yourselves together with God’s people, not to stop doing what you know you ought, and to be vigilant about keeping your passion for your King! The scriptures tell us that we should assemble ourselves together even more so as we see the end approaching, and I believe it is because we will need even greater encouragement, strength, and support to continue to fight the good fight of faith! I am excited to know that at any minute the trump of God could sound and we will leave this earth with a shout! I can hear Him calling out, “Ready or Not!”

I can’t think of any better way to stay encouraged in this great walk of faith than to come together for a powerful weekend at our Time of Purification Conference June 5th through the 7th! I am so looking forward to many of you attending and getting to meet you or know you better! In fact, I will be hosting a “Meet and Greet” for SISTERS Partners ONLY on Saturday following the morning service to get to know you better and say THANK YOU for all of your support, love, and prayers! A light luncheon will be provided just for you as we fellowship together! Be sure to register for the conference TODAY so we can count you in on this intimate time! Call 513-423-7040 or simply click on the conference icon and get started TODAY!

The Forgotten Weapon

I pray this blog finds you in good health, full of joy, and surrounded by love. As I write this, my daughter Renee, her husband and my beautiful granddaughter are in town visiting from California. I never feel so blessed as I do when all my children are around me and we are spending time together. I know this may seem like a small and basic thing in life, but it is moments like these that make life’s finest hours. Do not forget to take the time to cherish what you have all around you…no matter how big or small!

That is why in these tough times it is important to remember, neither look to the left nor to the right but keep your focus straight ahead on the One who sees your beginning from your end! I know that with all the news of economic problems, the unveiling of corruption in every segment of society, and the upheaval of foreign unrest it can become a challenge to hold onto the hope that is within. We must learn to “note” the facts but keep the TRUTH at the forefront of our minds. The facts may be bleak, but the TRUTH never is! The facts might point to doom and destruction, but our TRUTH says it’s not over until we win! Hold firm to the only thing that is certain…our God and the truth of His Word!

Did you know that His Word is OUR contract? It may seem odd or unusual to refer to the Bible as a contract but that is exactly what it is. Revelation 12:11 says, “They overcame him (the enemy) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” In other words, they made the enemy powerless by what had already been given to them. Isn’t it exciting to know that we already have EVERYTHING we need to overcome our enemy and make him completely powerless in our life?!

The blood of the Lamb speaks not only of the shed blood of Jesus Christ as a one-time event, but as an eternal symbol of His new covenant, or contract with us. Through the spilling out of Jesus’ blood, God marked His Word, His contract with a bloodstain to show us just how serious He is to hold up His promises. Once we are born again, we sign our name to the contract and are now partakers of His covenant. In other words, every promise in the contract or Word of God, is MINE and He will do all that He said He would do concerning my life! My only obligation is to believe what He says and obey it. It is here in the area of belief that many make the contract null and void and it points to why doubt and unbelief are such sins against God. If God went to such extreme measures as to seal our contract with His Son’s blood, why would we doubt Him? There is so much God has given me on this topic of “The Forgotten Weapon” that my son, Lawrence Bishop II and I just completed an entire series. If you would like more on this, go to the product section of this website and choose "The Forgotten Weapon" series! May God bless you and keep you as you strive to uphold your part of the contract!

True Repentance

Can you believe how quickly this winter has flown by?! It feels like yesterday that I was sitting with my family opening Christmas presents and here we are in March! It’s hard to believe!

Needless to say I have been staying busy with our two churches, traveling for ministry, keeping up with the family, and planning our 2009 Time of Purification Conference. I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of our ministry guests for this year’s conference. Well, your wait is over! It has been a hard decision to make as many of my friends are wonderful ministers, but after much prayer, deliberation, and hearing your requests, we have chosen this year’s guests. Wanda Turner, Vicki Yohe, Beth Stephens, Jana Mitten, and yours truly will join us June 5th through the 7th for a time of refreshing! This dynamic line up is sure to seek God for an on time word that will bless you and usher you into a new place with Him! Make plans TODAY to join us at our 2009 Time of Purification Conference in Monroe, OH at Solid Rock Church. Visit us online at www.darlenebishop.org or call 513-423-7040 ext. 1004 to reserve your spot now! I look forward to seeing you there!

May I ask you a question? Have you ever found yourself “trapped”? Have you intended to get out of a situation, quit a habit, or stop a sin immediately but your days became weeks and your weeks became months? Did it seem like no matter how many times you told yourself you were going to change you still continued to slip and fall? Many people today find themselves in that very predicament. That is because there is an enemy out there who seeks to discredit repentance by attempting to couple God’s precious jewel with ideas of condemnation and negativity. But nothing could be farther from the truth! The Word tells us that God can only forgive the repentant and when we forsake our wicked ways He will have mercy and abundantly pardon us (Is 55:7). What an awesome promise! God has given us a gift that without it we would all still be in our sins. He has given us the invaluable gift of “True Repentance.”

True repentance affects the whole man and alters his entire lifestyle. I have seen people cry and weep but never repent because they simply want to add Jesus to who they already are. They are sorry for what they have done perhaps out of fear of the consequences but they continue on in the sin. True repentance is a matter of the heart that turns a man/woman toward God and away from his/her sin producing a wonderful cleansing effect. It is this single position of humility that remakes, restores, and repairs the whole person, taking us from darkness to light, from bondage to freedom, and from death to life!

A time is soon coming when our window to repent will shut, but God is waiting for a few more of His chosen to get onboard! Let us agree together that friends, family, and loved ones will grab a hold of God’s precious gift of “True Repentance” before it’s too late! May God bless you and all that belongs to you as you discover God’s gift in this month’s CD, “True Repentance.”

God is CONSTANT

I pray that this new year has gotten off to a great start for you and your family! I hope that you are full of expectancy and in the process of taking great strides to see your goals met, your promises fulfilled, and your God lifted high! This is YOUR year to see God do the impossible as you do the possible!

Just a few days ago we witnessed the dawn of a new era in history. We saw the inauguration of a new President, the nation’s first African American President. And in this new era, already new policies have been put into place and a new direction for this nation has been forged. Whether for better or for worse, we are on the cusp of change. However, I am here to tell you that no matter which way the wind blows, one thing will remain constant…our God! In times of change, He is the same…yesterday, today, and forever. Our God is known for being able to make a meal barrel never run dry, to push back a sea to make a path of escape, and to bring life to dead situations. If He did it for the widowed woman, the Israelites, and Jarius’ daughter, He will do it for YOU! The Word tells us that God prefers no man to another. So, every miracle you read about in the Bible was not just for them…but for YOU!

As I have said before, I believe we need to get back to the basics that we so often overlook. That is why last week I taught about a seemingly foundational principle. In this message, “One of Life’s Most Valuable Gifts,” I shared one of the greatest revelations on wisdom I have ever received. Solomon’s father, David, taught him the importance of wisdom and understanding. I believe that’s why he asked for wisdom on how to lead his people when he could have asked for anything. He recognized that without understanding he could not be an effective and Godly king. That is why Solomon tells us to “seek wisdom and get understanding.” Wisdom is the honor and respect that we have for God. But what validates our honor and respect is our understanding of God and evil. As we seek wisdom we begin to know Him. As we know Him, we begin to understand Him. And as we understand Him, we are able to recognize evil. When we get to this place of recognition, we can make choices for God and away from evil. Job tells us in 28: 28, “The fear of the Lord is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding.” I challenge you to read Job 28 in its entirety so that you can come to an even greater revelation and as such, live an even more victorious life. If you would like more on this, you can call 513-423-7040 to order the entire message.

May God richly bless you as you seek, "One of Life's Most Valuable Gifts!"

2009

You have made it through yet another year and are now positioned for the dawn of a new beginning! I know that at times in 2008 it may have gotten bleak and looked as though you would never make it through, but the God who brought you to it has been faithful to bring you through it!

Tracing back over the past few years of my life, attempting to recall every mountaintop I experienced and every valley I walked through, I can see God’s guiding hand in it all. As I stood on some of the most beautiful mountaintops of my life, I can remember saying, “I am the most blessed woman on earth!” At other times, as I faced some of life’s most difficult moments and felt as though the darkness was going to consume me, I can remember meditating on the Word of God that says, “The sufferings of this life are not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us.” And just before the burden became too much to bear, God would part the heavens to reveal a beautiful sunrise. All of life’s tests and trials have brought me to the place I am now where I can say with Paul, “None of these things move me.” Regardless of the circumstances life has tossed me, I know in whom I trust and “in Him I live, move, and have my being!”

I believe that 2009 will not only be a good year but the best year yet! God has given us everything we need to have abundant life. He has given us talents, resources, and an instruction manual with over 32,000 promises to guide us through this journey to a victorious end. He has shown us His character, His sovereignty, and His faithfulness in every situation and desires to see His attributes realized in us. God has healed us, delivered us, protected us, and saved us and in turn wants us to do our part in bringing the same good news to others. Many times we look for an extraordinary opportunity to “play the hero.” We want to be the one who swoops in at the nick of time, delivering some great word and saving the day. But God is not looking for a “superhero.” He is looking for an everyday “faith fighter” with the supernatural power of God living inside of him/her; a person who not only fights the good fight of faith but champions it and it shows by his/her every action.

It doesn’t take some great revelation, a platform, and a microphone to cause change in others’ lives. Most of the time all it takes is a warm smile, a comforting hug, or a simple word of encouragement. We do not need to look for an opportunity to save the world, but can make a world of difference to someone everyday. This is the year we get back to the basics that we so often overlook so that God can take our simple ways and make something spectacular.
